Overfishing is a serious UK environmental issue you should be paying attention to. It goes deeper than merely depleting the fish in the sea and depriving you of food. Upsetting the ocean’s ecosystem can cause all kinds of effects that can’t be predicted and they would almost certainly be detrimental. The UK environmental issue is being addressed with laws thought to be stricter but Greenpeace says it’s not enough.
The biggest issue is that bad fish are dumped back into the sea as soon as they’re caught. The good fish are taken, the bad fish (which are often dead) are thrown back, and the ecosystem quickly gets thrown out of whack. It’s a problem Greenpeace demonstrators chained themselves up so their voices would be heard on the issue. Apparently the public has taken notice and put pressure on European governments since they’re actually considering changes.
